"Productivity is a trap. Becoming more efficient just makes you more rushed, and trying to clear the decks simply makes them fill up again faster... Since finitude defines our lives… living a truly authentic life — becoming fully human — means facing up to that fact."

@emilejoubert The truth of the matter is that they expect a COS of 20/25% on their beverage sales. 4/5 times the cost price. Jason Atherton “Michelin Starred Chef” has a SA Chenin - shipped in bulk and bottled in the UK - a serious “no name brand!” at £36 it costs him less than £6!!! Nice

@jamiegoode A very good article and incredible comprehensive. I hadn't realised that much of the aroma / flavour portion got lost with the alcohol, which sounds very challenging. The bit about the matrix is thought-provoking too.

A major article exploring non-alcoholic wine, which is a growing category. What are the technical challenges, how can they be overcome, and what's the future for this important segment? Visits to facilities, interviews with scientists and specialists https://t.co/v32ggwNpNc

Boekenhoutskloof, based in Franschhoek but also making wines from the Swartland and Stellenbosch, is an important player in South Africa's fine wine dimension. I meet Marc Kent to taste through new releases and also to look at how well the Semillon ages https://t.co/hjFeM73Thv

Lots of chat about wine education right now. Are we over-complicating things? @jamiegoode not convinced. Wine’s complex by nature - and learning is optional. Price, not exams, is the real barrier:

Wine isn’t intimidating – but prices can be. There’s quite a lot of discussion about the role of education in the wine world at the moment. Wine education

I liked the way I scored back in 1997. This was my first trip to California with friends, and we did some wine country visits. Quite pleased that I've kept my website content from almost 30 years ago live. There weren't many wine websites then. https://t.co/racJPDSVTO
