I realised that my first “album” made with the dregs of my student loan and some gig money is 20 years old this year. I found a few still sealed copies in my studio. Shall we do a giveaway?
I won an Ivor Novello Award for “The Age of Anxiety” - best song musically and lyrically! I am so proud to receive this award amongst some incredible company.
As Christmas nears
@robbiewilliams
announced he’s releasing his first Christmas album. He brought together a great bunch of featuring artists to work on the album and guess what - I was asked to be on it with him!! I know!! Right!!?? It’s out November 22nd
It gives me great pleasure to announce that my brand new album ‘Taller’ is now available to pre-order. If you pre-order now, you will instantly receive the title track.
It was with the utmost, humbling pleasure that I was made an Honorary Member of the Royal Academy of Music on Tuesday in the most incredible company. To be present amongst the students receiving their degrees, knowing the amount of commitment and talent present in the room...
My brand new album
#Taller
is officially out now. I hope it sings to you however you may listen to it - on your preferred digital platform, vinyl, CD.....even cassette tape! Thank you, as ever, for lending me your ears. With love, Jx
Dear Mr Cullum. It came to my attention that you are turning 40 this year and we are seriously starting to worry about the validity of this jazz/pop, stage trick. Might you consider a less impactful gimmick? Perhaps biting the head off of something? Yours faithfully, Your Knees.
Twentysomething is a song I haven’t played for a long time. I’m about to turn 42 so it didn’t seem that appropriate. Given that it’s a song that pretty much changed the course of my twentysomething life I’m gonna show it some respect!
I found the first drafts in old notebooks of two of my songs - Twentysomething and the Age of Anxiety - just toddlers in this form, learning how to walk.
"The Pursuit” is 11 years old today. It started off a whole new chapter for me and I know many of you have taken this album to your hearts and I’m very grateful to you. It's a weird and wonderful entity that I’m very proud of.
Thrilled to announce that my new album and first ever Christmas record, 'The Pianoman at Christmas' will be out on 20th November and is available to pre-order now ✨
Here’s a 5 minute song society and an old song that takes on new resonances in these isolated times. Sending you all love and hoping you’re doing as well as you can be.
Happy new year everyone. Grateful for this wise and beautiful woman right here who is captured here with me in a brief moment away from holiday chaos. Much love to you all and see you on the other side. Jx
It’s been 10 years since I released the album ‘Momentum’ unbelievably. What’s your favourite track from this one? If I had to choose it would probably be ‘Get a hold of yourself’
I’m just gonna casually leave this here.....4 years ago today.....playing music at The White House in the presence of greatness. Amazing memories of International Jazz Day!

This is the moment we met, many years ago, my face, captured here full of wonder. Happy Valentines Day Sophie, I love you. From your husband, still full of wonder. Xx

Attending the Wimbledon semi-finals was a dream come true. Tennis (Mario Tennis and real tennis) is the only sport I’ve ever been reasonably serviceable at. Watching the greatest in the world play on Centre Court with such skill and precision was a massive privilege.
I’ve been lucky enough to meet the exceptional

Writing lyrics and music. Eventually the side that has the dictionary and notebooks gets fused with the side that has the black and white buttons. Dog not essential. Computer an impediment to the initial process so is left out of the room!
We’ve been recording something very special here
@AbbeyRoad
all week that I cannot wait to share with you. Studio 2 here is another form of heaven and we have filled it with some of the world’s best musicians that you will hear from soon!
Amidst all the chaos and confusion of 2020, this carrot grew in our garden as a reminder that nature still knows how to have a good laugh.
