With tears of joy, my council bill establishing the Office of Returning Citizens was signed into law. This journey is deeply personal, as I witnessed both my parents navigate the challenging process of re-entering society after encounters with the criminal justice system. 1/4
Got some great health news this week. After 6-months of consistent workouts and healthier eating, I am no longer pre-diabetic or have high blood pressure concerns. 🙌🏽
Last month, my doctor told me I had no choice but to lose 25lbs for my health. Since that talk, I’ve loss 10lbs and started figuring out how to fit the gym in. 🙏🏽
Just caught some people illegally dumping construction materials from a basement. Thank you
@BaltimorePolice
for intervening. Looking forward to seeing a $1000 fine assessed!
Please join me in congratulating
@AlsobrooksForMD
on her victory in securing the Democratic nomination for U.S. Senate. Now, let's roll up our sleeves and work together to ensure she represents us.
Tonight, my team and I, led by a strong black woman, gave our all on the field. As we await the final results, the overwhelming support we've received across our district showcases a genuine commitment to progress and tangible outcomes.
Early voting is happening and I’m casting my ballot for
@AlsobrooksforMD
. We need to elect Angela to the US Senate b/c she’s the most qualified candidate in the race.Early voting ends on May 9th and you can vote at 9 locations in Baltimore from 7 AM-8 PM each day.

Today, I overheard someone talking about a person’s
#vitiligo
and I couldn’t resist intervening. I rarely talk about it but
#vitiligo
is a huge part of my everyday. Over 17 yrs ago, it started w/ a tiny patch on my hands. Please be kind b/c not everyone embraces their journey!
Dear Friends,
It's official! Thank you to the voters for entrusting me to be your next City Councilman in the 7th District. I want to thank everyone who made this possible!
Of course, I could not have done this without my wife’s sacrifice, support and encouragement.
This evening, I introduced legislation to establish an Office of Returning Citizens in our City. This office’s work is extremely personal to me as both my parents struggled with the criminal justice system and faced many barriers as returning citizens. See full statement below:
It's Election Day and polls are open until 8 p.m. In my first term, we’ve made real progress with the largest investment in our schools, created an Office of Returning Citizens, reduced voilence, renovated rec centers and libraries, and built playgrounds all over the District.1/2
Our office is aware of the paint chips issue in The Television Hill area. A stop work order has been issued and BCHD has also reached out to MDE for further follow-up regarding the potential lead issue. Please continue to call 311 to report any issues moving forward!
Sincere thanks to MONSE for their partnership and dedicated work on comprehensive re-entry initiatives over the past two years. I look forward to working with Mayor Scott, MONSE and my colleagues on staffing and robust programming for returning citizens.

Seeing my mother, Pamela Massenburg, face homelessness, denied healthcare and countless rejections due to her record underscored early the barriers many face, especially residents in West Baltimore. 2/4
Happy Birthday to the woman who still makes my heart skip a beat and my stomach do somersaults when she enters a room. I am so proud and blessed to be able to call you my wife! Jace is equally blessed to have you as his mother and first love. Love you, Orlett!
My heart hurts seeing someone with a honor roll bumpersticker for a Baltimore County school throwing their trash out a window on Gwynns Falls Pkwy! Thank you for visiting but take your trash with you! 😩
Simply speechless after touring the new Cahill Fitness and Wellness Center with
@CouncilmanKB
.
@RecNParks
has delivered a center which can provide a wide variety of fitness opportunities, classes, performing arts spaces and many more exciting features. 1/2
UPDATE: If you’ve found TV Hill Paint Chips on your property, please file a 311 and send the service request number w/ photos to district7staff
@baltimorecity
.gov. My office is working w/
@CCMiddleton6
, BCHD and DCHD to support neighboring communities impacted in Districts 6 & 7.
Watched “Rustin” today, a film paying homage to and depicting civil rights leader, Bayard Rustin. He was the architect of the March on Washington and showed great resiliency in spite of homophobia within the civil rights movement. The erasure of his legacy was profoundly wrong!
Hi Kim, your displeasure is misplaced. I’m glad you stepped away from Middle River to visit West Baltimore. You should join council meetings like tonight’s meeting at 5pm. Or joined Penn North residents during their redevelopment visioning session from tonight 5:30 to 7pm.
Great night in West Baltimore. The community and the Citizens Advisory Board came together for a much needed discussion. It was sad
@MayorBMScott
,
@JamesTorrenceJD
&
@RepKweisiMfume
didn’t show up, but it was expected. They don’t care about West Baltimore, it’s common knowledge.
Today, I joined Mayor Scott w/ CP Mosby, Comptroller Henry and a host of Baltimoreans as he presented Angel Reese w/ the Key to the City. We celebrated her many accomplishments as a highly talented basketball player & her unapologetic authenticity. Congratulations,
@Reese10Angel
!
This law marks a pivotal moment for Baltimore, ushering in the inaugural Re-Entry Action Council (RAC) and elevating MONSE’s ongoing re-entry efforts with holistic supports, which include housing, employment, family unification, mental and physical health treatment and more. 3/4
Wishing everyone a day filled with love, laughter, and heartwarming moments. Whether you’re celebrating with a special someone or spreading love to friends and family, may your day be as bright as your smile. Here’s to love in all of its beautiful forms! Happy Valentine’s Day!
A heartbreaking loss for our City. My thoughts and prayers are with his loved ones and everyone his work impacted. Dante Barksdale’s work and love saved countless lives.
Humbled to serve as a member of the West North Avenue Development Authority. Thank you to
@antoniohayes40
for his advocacy and leadership in creating this important investment vehicle for West Baltimore. S/O
@marlonamprey
for his work in the House. 1/2
First full week back in the office. I am missing my East Baltimore firecracker but I know she is smiling in heaven. Thank you to everyone who has supported my family during this time.
Reflecting on my first day teaching constitutional law, man was it amazing to see students enjoy the lecture. My law school classmates will be proud that I remixed separation of powers and SCOTUS history while sprinkling in jokes and anecdotes along the way.🤣🤣
In light of the SCOTUS decision, I am dedicating $300,000 to support organizations that offer abortion and family planning services here in Baltimore. We will continue to be a haven, and provide safe and consistent access to individuals seeking care.
Grief is a complicated and long journey. This Christmas Eve is especially hard as it’s the first since my grandmother passed and we are celebrating our 19th Christmas without our mom and her 57th Heavenly Birthday. Thankfully, she has our grandmother to keep her company.
Today was busy! I had to pull out my old Covid Business Causal work attire to do an interview and check-in on some illegal dumping spots.
#outfitoftheday
This morning, my colleagues and I announced a series of legislative actions we are taking to combat illegal dumping. Collectively, we recognize that illegal dumping is a systemic issue that spans beyond artificial boundaries. 1/3

An exciting day for Baltimore, our State and the entire N.E. Corridor as President Biden joined by Governor Moore, our federal delegation and other officials to announce the Frederick Douglass Tunnel’s reconstruction project.
Tim Scott, a black senator just said: “America is not a racist country.” This is after he shared in the same speech he was racial profiled as a black man.
A little rain won’t deter us from knocking doors. Thank you to our
@btubaltimore
educators for volunteering today. Can’t stop, won’t stop.

Today, I joined my council colleagues for the IAFF's Fire Ops 101, which provided hands-on training and exposure to the critical work our firefighters and paramedics perform on a daily basis. 1/2

They have active permits for two homes near by. This is exactly why I submitted legislation to have persons provide proof of disposal.
