I feel so fortunate to have been around USC when I was twelve going blind—being told to Fight On and always compete changed the trajectory of my life forever. Now imagine if I was a fan of the “if only life goes my way” Fighting Irish…

The weekly rankings are pretty useless from the committee the way they have it set up before championship weekend. Like ASU was outside the top 12 last year heading into the BIG12 Championship. Why not have the ranking BYU Miami ND heading into today. Have some foresight.

There’s a reason their mantra isn’t Fight On and ours is

After thinking on it today, I actually think ND is set up better most years without being in a conference. The conference schedule and championship game is all a bit ridiculous. Unfortunately it will bite them every few years. This year was one of them. Take the good with the bad

Simply comes down to the committee always protecting $ which translates to protecting conference championships. They will punish Notre Dame 100 out of 100 times for not playing in a conference championship over knocking a SEC team out for plane in one.
If ND gets in, and Bama gets booted, it could be the end of conference championships as we know them. It will be all the incentive to not play in your conference championship game, or even be in a conference for that matter. Your move committee.

This has to have become the worst weekend in the college football schedule

This has been my point for years. These conference games don’t make sense. I know it’s about the $ so it’ll take a team opting out or a team electing to sit starters to make a dent but I believe they ought to. Why play if you’re OSU? Why play if you’re GA? Go enjoy the time off.

I’ll keep beating the drum. National guys see it. Oklahoma guys definitely see it. I even see it. And I know a good portion of the fan base is starting to see it. But there are still those blinded from their HDS who can’t see it. And they’re in my comments but I’m here to love ✌🏼
Column: USC went in for 10 years and $110 million on Lincoln Riley, thinking it was getting its next McKay, Robinson or Carroll. Four years in, he’s an extension of Clay Helton.

Since Lincoln Riley took charge at USC, 16 schools have made the CFP (2022-24). Assume first-timers make up half the '25 field, that pushes the total to 22 ... none of them the Trojans. Crazy that over the entire CFP era, Indiana would make it twice before USC made it once.

At this point, I’d rather have a fundamentally strong, ugly 6–6 season. Defense & special teams on point, offense takes a step back. A bunch of 17–14 grinders with real tackling, QB pressures, sacks, and clean special teams. Anything but another 8–9 Riley season of the same crap.

Wake me up when we start posting record breaking defensive stats, or impressive kicking stats at half. How bout USC already has more TFLs at half, 4, than any other opponent this year. USC already has more punt return yards at half than any other opponent had in a game…
USC already has more passing yards than any Oregon opponent all season. Previous high was Indiana with 216. Trojans at 236 right now.

It’s Year 4 for Lincoln Riley. USC’s defense still isn’t good enough and the special teams still make far too many costly mistakes. These were Year 1 problems.

I’m really sorry, as bad as it was, Tulane showed us exactly what needed to be fixed after year 1 and by end of year 4, we’ve learned nothing. It’s really disheartening.
