Pts with cervical myelopathy often present w/o neck pain. Perfect psychometrics? No. But takes <20sec to work into exam for pts with a host of complaints (e.g., imbalance, clumsiness, falls, weakness, etc) and may drastically change your POC. Bonus pts for ✅ing DTRs and PF tone.

In New York, Medicaid recipients are entitled to 40 PT visits annually. UM companies are routinely providing 3-5 visits after IE and are shocked when patients with chronic neurologic issues haven’t made substantial objective improvements or achieved all of the STGs.

The next layer that needs the be addressed (at state levels) is the same issue within managed Medicaid programs. These patients often have the greatest need for PT services and are often the least able to advocate for themselves following adverse decisions related to their care.
