We are extending the rollout of the new curriculum to give teachers the right amount of time to get around the new syllabuses and prioritise the key areas of literacy and numeracy.

Youth in STEM report. Despite equal achievement, girls less confident than boys in maths. My PhD showed importance of linking maths to social/relevant issues for girls. Students' further study influenced in order of parents, friends, then teachers 😐

Enjoying helping primary teachers to prepare for implementation of the new K-2 maths. Many evidence-based changes to teaching needed - teachers need time in Term 4 to prepare - the new NSW syllabus requires a rethink for how maths is taught 🙌 PS: my cats are over me atm🐱🤣

Love working with my pre service tchrs - led by @Vic_Rawlings @DrNadaLabib - great leaders! I keep reminding them of the (often underreported) joys in teaching, in a sea of constant workload/pay/retention issues that dominate discourse @USyd_SSESW
