Had a good conversation with Soaryn this past weekend talking about what would be required if I wanted to start a new weekly podcast. Fun times.

And anyone who thinks I'm telling them that they're wrong or lying.. it's not like that. I used to run a podcast where we looked past trends and into data to discuss candidly. I'm doing what I've always done. It'd be nice to find data that supports the claims... still looking.

Anecdotal data. 8 skeets with content creators concerned. Reviewed their data since July. 5 cases → viewership increased/consistent to today. 1 case → legit viewership decline, potentially game choice related 1 case → 2 week hiatus, returns to less viewers

So when I saw "LURKERS DON'T COUNT?!" today, it reminded me of the many times I've heard this before. I think last year around this time that happened. Turned out inaccurate. Glancing at sitewide viewership, numbers seem consistent. Data doesn't seem to match speculation.

Data could be messed up some years due to events at those times, such as Twitchcon one year, etc. But I've gotten used to people talking about drops in viewership during summer, start of school and after xmas.
