A quick overview of our @WUNetwork RDF project, a three-way collaboration between @UoSEngineering @UCT_Research & @SheffieldBlast

The 5th @TheIBRN Forum took place earlier this week in Sri Lanka with the aims to gain understanding of Sri Lanka’s health system, emergency response strengths & challenges faced in relation to the 2019 bombings + exploring the rebuilding in Colombo and lessons learnt 🇱🇰 #IBRN

On 21 April 2019, Easter explosions in SriLanka killed at least 253 people. At least 40 foreign nationals and at least 45 children reported to be among the dead. Effort to compile experience by @TheIBRN team led by @JackWDenny @genevieve_langd https://t.co/OiY0uUMUZv

Day 2! With April’s Oslo Conf. approaching, UNIDIR & @WeaponsMonitor is promoting a discuss. with States, IOs & civil society on how the Political Declaration on EWIPA can be leveraged to strengthen efforts to collect data to prevent & reduce civilian harm from the use of #EWIPA

Today France & @AOAV held a side event on "Mitigating IEDs effects". Many thanks to panelists @iainoverton @TIGizelis @JackWDenny Jenny Dathan for their deep data analysis (huge impact on civilians, esp. women) and subsequent recommendations to policymakers & urban planners.

Day 1 at our WUN RDF/@TheIBRN workshop here at the University of Cape Town bringing together blast engineers from @SheffieldBlast @UCT_Research & @UoSEngineering! Interesting presentations and we even did some reduced-scale blast tests! 💥 🇿🇦 @WUNetwork

Today we had our first online workshop for our @WUNetwork RDF project incl partners from @UoSEngineering @UCT_Research, @sheffielduni, @AOAV @Cambridge_Uni & @AUB_Lebanon. We discussed CFD results using @viperblast42 & plans for our upcoming experiments examining the #BeirutBlast
