I've got some podcasts lined up for 2026 but most are far away so need to raise some funds. I'm looking to get £1,000.00 to enable me to do more podcasts in person with a range of exciting guests. If you can spare anything its all greatly appreciated! https://t.co/HzKPMpJtOy

One species that has been eradicated from Britain is the black bullhead catfish an American species released from the pet trade. I haven't seen any real proof they are still present but it wouldn't shock me if the odd one is still about.

I'm immensely proud of my book "Field Guide to British" with @BloomsburyBooks this year. It features over 200 species of marine and freshwater fish in a relatable and understandable layout not a stuffy academic textbook. Available online and in bookshops!

At this time of year I like to put a temporary net over my fish pond to stop falling leaves from going in and rotting down causing issues later down the line. Around mid November I’ll take it off

With my job I obviously get wet quite a bit! So keeping warm and dry is important to help my filming. @HammondDrysuits have been close partners over the years producing this taylor fit drysuit for me many years ago and still works a absolute treat, can't recommend them enough

I’m planning to extend my garden pond so I’ve put some mats down to kill off the grass then will dig it out this winter. I’ll be able to fit in it when it’s done!

Bullheads are found in rocky streams across Britain and recently it was discovered that we have a different species here not cottus gobio but cottus perifretum also known as the chabot bullhead.

I would read this book religiously as a kid mainly for all the obscure fish featured in it

Let me introduce you to what is most likely the rarest fish in Britain, the Allis Shad. These fish are only reliably found in one river in Britain and are a form of herring that travels up rivers to spawn. Pollution and blockages to migration have decimated numbers
