Proud to announce the UNSPT has adopted its first General Comment on Art.4 of the OPCAT, clarifying what constitutes places of deprivation of liberty. This landmark document will guide states in ensuring comprehensive access for monitoring bodies, including the SPT and NPMs.
The UN Subcommittee on Prevention of Torture #SPT calls on all States to respect comprehensive definition of places of deprivation of liberty as part of torture prevention efforts. Read more:
