So, they bought me a very large gift card (thanks, Mom & Dad!), but when I tried to use it at @IKEA, it didn't work. Turns out you can't use U.S. cards in Sweden. and also there are no refunds on gift cards. Customer service said they are shit out of luck 😭.

Okay, first time I've genuinely been screwed over by AI. My parents wanted to buy me an @IKEA gift card in Sweden. I Googled if they could buy one here and it would work in Sweden, and the AI Overview said yes, and sent me to this IKEA Q&A.

Important life update: I'm starting a research position at Uppsala University in September, moving the whole fam to Sweden in 2 weeks! We'll be living on Gotland, so come visit in the summer :) I'll be modeling the future of nuclear in Sweden.

Here’s my plan for energy dominance:. - punch solar, batteries, and electric motors while China dominates us. - larp as pro nuclear but do little to nothing. - classify coal as a critical mineral. - claim we’ll help O&G even though production was already at absolute record levels.
