A year ago, I left my job at The Columbian after a decade in newspapers. I had no clue what I would do next, but for the past year, I’ve tried to “make it” as a freelance photographer. I’ve shot loads of sports, several senior portraits and I shoot my first wedding next week.

Hayden Kaut's 3-pointer with 13 seconds left lifted Napavine to a 41-40 win over Okanogan in the 2B State Girls Basketball Championship.

In a battle of undefeateds, Colfax earned the spoils, topping Columbia (Burbank) 65-42 to win the 2B State Boys Championship, their first since 2012. Photos for @SBLiveWA

In the 2B Girls Championship, Napavine leads Okanogan 19-18 at the half.

Final: Colfax 65, Columbia (Burbank) 52. The Bulldogs go on a 17-3 run to close the game and win their first title since 2012.

Frimodt with a triple and Coyotes take a 47-46 lead with 4:40 remaining.

End third: Colfax 44, Columbia 41. Great game to start the finals off.
