Notice how fanfic is never that serious until someone wants to talk about misogyny or racism. You all want to be treated like a respected medium while in the same breath, never allowing it to be criticized.
the ao3 archive was not built to protect media representation for women, or anyone for that matter. it was built specifically to host wincest omegaverse without having it immediately taken down, and the creators were nice enough to let all the other fandom sickos join in.

The top 100 AO3 ships are a masterclass in internalized misogyny. We built a whole archive to escape the way media ignores us and then used it to center men again. And again. And again.

My issue isn't that Meljay isn't popular. The issue has and always will be about racism. I'm pretty sure I speak for most Meljay fans when I say we wouldn't give a shit otherwise if it weren't for that.
