Day 2 in Paris involved a visit to Park Asterix. We noticed how creative the designers of the park are when creating the buildings and different themed areas representing different time periods and cultures. #BeReadyForYourFuture

Day 1 of the French and art trip to Paris got us ready for Halloween with a trip to the catacombs at night to see some skulls after our ferry journey. #BeYou

Also for World Book Day: eagle eyed students searched for 6 word logos hidden around the school which they exchanged for a breaktime treat. All students received their World Book Day tokens too! #BeResilient

Tuesday February 6th is Safer Internet Day: students have begun the day with an assembly on staying safe + being kind online. Videos + resources were from https://t.co/2hiQ5R1xSQ where there are materials to support students, parents and carers with behaviour and safety online.

Wishing super chef Maisie the very best of luck as she competes in the Future Chef Regional finals today- she’s had the privilege to work with Michelin star chef Ryan Blackburn from the Old Stamp House, Ambleside, to hone her skills in preparation!

This term Year 8 have been creating clay monsters in their Art lessons. There is a lot of excitement as the first lot get loaded into the kiln this week! Watch this space for completed glazed monsters!

Unfortunately due to site safety issues and concerns over the safety of bus routes, JRS will be closed tomorrow (Tuesday 5 December). JRS will reopen Wednesday 6 December for all students.

Congratulations to Year 11 student Lily Dann And Year 7 student Betony Buller who came second and third respectively in the Cumbria Tourism Lakeland Book of the Year poetry competition for under 16s - both won a prize from CPG! #BeValued

Lakeland Book of the Year by Cumbria Tourism includes an under 16s poetry competition - congratulations Y11 Wiktoria Chrusciel who was this year's winner with What The Gods Gave Us! Her prize was a £200 CPG gift voucher for books and a CPG subscription for the school. #BeValued
