I think composites will always be some of my favorite things in the Capitol Collection. It's a tradition spanning more than 150 years!
Composite portraits are helpful tools for identifying past & present state legislators. This photo includes members & chamber staff of the 1955-56 House of Representatives session. You can see more of our historic composites thanks to the #LibraryofMich at https://t.co/u3BBittzrk

The Ingham County Historical Commission will soon release the book "Ingham County Rural One Room Schools," researched and compiled by Audrey Z. Martini. I'm proud to have had a hand in this important local history work. https://t.co/J50gGO3COl

We’re Capitol Educators, of course we do more than give tours! In addition to working with Capitol guests every day we also do research, design exhibits, create educational programing, manage collections, and occasionally make very silly videos!

While half of the rock remains in East Lansing, the other half was broken up in 1924. A portion of the lost half was used as a plaque tablet on the west Capitol grounds beneath an SAR dedicated tree from 1931 to 1970. It was unfortunately lost when removed.
#DYK there was a rock marking the halfway point between Lansing and MSU? This undated photograph shows a view of Half-Way Rock. Written on the back reads "Half Way Rock between Lansing and M.A.C., Lansing, Mich - L.M.R." #MSUHistory

A new Capitol photo from an exciting new collection of materials recently added to the Captiol Collection! The woman next to Gov. Milliken is Marge Siebert, head of the tour service for nearly 2 decades.
Today we’re meeting the Michigan Capitol Tour Guides of the 1970’s! The tour staff are pictured with Governor Milliken in his office. Our tours (and uniforms) have changed a lot since then, but the excitement & curiosity of Capitol visitors is never-ending!
