The Johnson County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a stabbing which ultimately ended in an officer involved shooting. One person is deceased.

The Johnson County Sheriff's Office has a large presence in the area of the Panasonic plant near 103rd and Astra Pkwy. The situation is contained and there is no active threat to the public. There will be a law enforcement presence in the area for an extended time.

JCSO deputies and Med-Act responded to a medical incident Sept. 3 on EB K-10 at Kill Creek Rd. Two children and one adult were inside the vehicle. One child died, the other was taken to the hospital. Additional information will be provided as it becomes available.

Eight years ago, Master Deputy Collins was killed in the line of duty when his vehicle was struck from behind while conducting a traffic stop on 69 HWY in Overland Park, KS. Master Deputy Collins was a husband and a father who served with the JCSO for 21 years. #NeverForget

Sheriff Calvin Hayden has released information regarding the fatal crash on the morning of May 26. The last name of the man who was arrested was misspelled in the original post. He is Jason E. Brumley, 39.

From the desk of Sheriff Calvin Hayden: Deputies are working on a fatal car crash near I-35 and Sunflower Road. They have shut down a portion of the highway as they investigate. Traffic is being diverted to Sunflower Road as we work to clear the scene. More updates to come.
