Blockchains are not interesting technologies; to first approximation they're just append-only spreadsheets. Buying a crypto token is essentially just a huckster opening Excel and offering to sell you the cells A2:D5 for $100,000. It really is that stupid.

After yesterday's complete cluster****, it now seems that #Tweetdeck is down. Columns are not loading, apart from Home and Messages. The joy of it all.

Lol the Twitter webapp is trying to load something from its internal graphql API and getting a 429 Too Many Requests response. Twitter's Javascript ignores the error and tries again, hundreds of times a second. Twitter is DDOSing itself.

This is incredible. A snowball fight filmed by cinema pioneers the Lumiere bros in France, 1896. It's been colourised and had the speed adjusted.
