It’s a big state. Someone who broke out in the 828 might still be unknown throughout the rest of NC. We picked a definition that was pretty cut-and-dry to make it nice and easy. So yes, a guy might be a 3-year starter. Doesn’t mean he’s reached the ceiling of his notoriety.
@JMBpreps Right, which is why I stated in the previous reply that the way you guys define “breakout” should be tweaked or renamed, because what serves as the current definition in this context doesn’t really embody what it means to break out. Many of those named have already done so.

It’s not to say any of those players aren’t worthy of recognition, they’re just not all breakouts.

These are not the only 20 breakout players!. There will be plenty more this year in a wide open NCHSAA season. We'll have more on these as we get closer to the start of next season.
