Both students and faculty are increasingly demotivated. The passion that once drove many toward veterinary science is now giving way to frustration and helplessness. FVSc & AH is the only veterinary college in Kashmir. 8/n.

Adding to the concern, despite fee hikes over the past 2–3 years, there has been no visible improvement on the ground. Laboratory and hospital infrastructure has not been expanded. There are no designated classrooms for students, and during examinations, classes are 6/n.

Labs originally designed for 60-70 students are now forced to accommodate twice that number.Outdated equipment and a lack of adequate space further limit the quality of practical learning. In such conditions, real education is lost in the crowd. 5/n.

The Bachelor of Veterinary Science (BVSc) is meant to be a hands-on, skill-based program. However, overcrowded laboratories, rushed clinical rotations, and limited hands-on time are hollowing out the learning experience. 4/n.

As a result, most students complete their degrees without ever checking vital signs, performing per-rectal examinations, or meaningfully interacting with live cases. This is far from what veterinary education should be. 3/n.

When asked about the issue, they pointed out that although the student intake has increased to over 160–190, the infrastructure and clinical facilities at FVSc & AH, Shuhama, have not been scaled accordingly. 2/n.

Scores of students from the Faculty of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry (FVSc & AH), Shuhama, SKUAST-K, have reached out to us expressing concern that they are graduating without having received adequate clinical exposure. @OmarAbdullah @sakinaitoo @nasirsogami 1/n.
