This report shows that the education gradient within the Baltimore area mirrors that of the education gradient nationally. The same is also true for income gradients. 8/8.

We find that residents with less than a high school degree were almost 4X as likely to report losing a loved one to overdose than residents with a professional degree, with 54% of Baltimore residents with less than a high school degree having lost a loved one 3/8

Overall, we find that 28.5% of Baltimore area residents have lost a loved one from drug overdose, similar to national estimates. About 40% of Baltimoreans know at least one person addicted to drugs, and among those 14.5% know 3 or more people 2/8.

We are deeply grieved by the loss of the Key Bridge, an indelible symbol of Baltimore. We are keeping the families of those affected by this tragedy in our thoughts.

Rescuers are racing against the clock to locate people who may be in the water after the Key Bridge collapse. At least 6 people are unaccounted for. An 8-person construction crew was on the bridge, repairing potholes, when the center spans crumbled.
