This year K-5 students participated in @studentsrebuild #SparkPeaceProject. We read dozens of books about ☮️ & created art: giant ☮️ tree, class ☮️ signs and ☮️ quilts, ☮️ buttons, and ☮️ doves. Their artivism earned $14,620 for peace building organizations. #JGBforPeace ✌🏻

Thanks to an AMAZING grant from @PATHforyou we gave 200+ Family Story Time Activity Bags to @JGB_Giraffes families from Jan-May. Bags had a hardcover book, all materials for a family activity & a bookmark/bookplate from the authors. LOVED this project!.📚 📚📚📚📚📚📚.🧵1/2

No better way to wrap up the @studentsrebuild #SparkPeaceProject this year than to have each class (K-5) form a human ☮️ sign on the last day of school @JGB_Giraffes

Love sharing stories with @JGB_Giraffes when I learn something new! 3rd gr heard JUBILEE: ONE MAN’S BIG, BOLD, AND VERY, VERY LOUD CELEBRATION OF PEACE, a wonderful story about celebrating the end of the war in a giant Temple of Peace in Boston. Then they made peace buttons.☮️✌🏻

Learning alongside @JGB_Giraffes 4th graders this week as we read A ROSE NAMED PEACE @BarbaraCRoberts - beautiful story about a rose developed in France that survived the war. Students created their own peace roses.

So proud of our @JGB_Giraffes for working hard this year doing @GoKidPower brain breaks I. The Library. They earned 57 RUTFs (peanut paste packs) and 1263 coins for local causes. Way to give back!

One of my FAVORITE activities with 5th graders is sharing WHAT THE ROAD SAID @withlovecleo. This book is SO BEAUTIFUL & a great send off to middle school. Students chose one of the Road’s lines & made a poster - some combined lines to create their own saying. 🧵1/3

Shared BE A MAKER @kateywrites with 2nd graders. Gave them a basket of scraps and had them think like a maker. Saw many great ideas - plane, roller coaster, robots, cat playgrounds & houses.

4th graders heard WHAT COULD THAT BE? @RezaDalvand11 and then created art from a found object. Such creativity - phone, jellyfish, giraffe, rocket, vase, snake, and catapult!

Such a treat watching 4th & 5th graders draw @wimpykid in different settings after a @BookBreak4Schls session. Books flew off the shelf!

Our 5th graders enjoyed listening to @JerryCraft share about NEW KID @BookBreak4Schls. Then they challenged themselves to draw Jordan during the draw along with Jerry.
