Day 6 of the DT trip to Japan. Busy day cycling around the Kyoto before heading onto Osaka. The final nights dinner in busy and lively Osaka signed off what has been a fantastic trip. At the airport now and ready for take off - see you soon Dubai ✈️

Day 5 of the DT Trip to Japan. Today we travelled by coach from Nagoya to Toyota to see the latest developments from Japan’s leading car manufacturer. Later we made our way to Kyoto where students had lots of fun at the Manga Museum, creating their own Manga drawings. #JESSDT

Day 4 of the JESS DT trip to Japan involved boats and bullet trains, visiting Hakone Shrine, Lake Ashi, Mt. Komagatake Ropeway along the way. The students really enjoyed the wood crafting workshop, where they learned about local Japanese crafts.

Day 3 of the JESS DT Trip involved an early coach journey out of Tokyo. Todays activities included, watching Sumo Wrestlers train and exploring DT in the real world at the Toshiba museum and Kawasaki Eco Facility. To end a busy day we treated to an authentic Japanese dinner.

Day 2 of the JESS DT Trip involved another fun filled day exploring Tokyo. Students took part in a sushi making class before visiting the Shinjuku, Akihabara & Harajuka Districts, which included the world famous zebra crossing. #JESSJapan2022

Design & Technology lessons are so much more than woodwork or metalwork! DT is a synthesis subject teaching skills that incorporate design thinking, ideation, problem solving and evaluation methods. Students also learn practical skills such as wood and metalwork and hand tools.
