4. We will see what the finally tally is but at this point, I suspect OK will be one of very few states to reject this money. This cannot happen again for 2026. 6/6.

This time around, we had a full 7+ months with the rules to understand how to run the SEBT, but our state still chose not to run it. I know, more than most, that this is a difficult program to run. But we can do hard things in OK, we've proven it time and time again. 5/X.

it was very disappointing, but there were many challenges, not least of which was the guidance (aka rules to run SEBT) being released a few days before states had to opt in. That said, the majority of states opted in anyway and figured it out. 4/X.

@okcchamber @TulsaChamber that this program is a positive for our state. The individuals that signed on to the letter covered 46 counties across OK. Though I haven't seen or heard a direct statement from Governor Stitt, the statement that came from his office is very troubling. Feeding kids is not and should not be political. It truly is that simple.

@HungerFreeOK developed a suite of priorities for this Farm Bill based on quantitative and qualitative data, but given the lack of strong bipartisanship in Congress, many of our priorities will likely not be included. We will continue to work with members of congress and other. .

Oklahoma has a great leader on the committee in @RepFrankLucas, who has served on the Ag cmte since 1994, including chairing the cmte 2011 - 2015. He opened with a reminder the long history of bipartisanship in the Farm Bill and the importance of maintaining that bipartisanship.

Today is House Ag Cmte markup of the Farm Bill. The Farm Bill is critical, typically bipartisan, legislation that has huge implications for the food system in America. The bill includes 12 titles, including commodities, conservation, nutrition, credit, rural dev. and much more.
