@okcchamber @TulsaChamber that this program is a positive for our state. The individuals that signed on to the letter covered 46 counties across OK. These facts demonstrate that this issue is neither a partisan political issue nor a urban vs. rural issue. 3. When OK turned down SEBT last year. 3/X.

70 Orgs and 700 individuals signed on over the course of 1 week. Orgs supporting SEBT included the usual folks engaged in this work, but also included were orgs like the @okcchamber and @TulsaChamber. The chambers are focused on our economy and they understand … 2/X.

A few thoughts to add to the disappointing #Oklahoma #SummerEBT news. 1. We don’t have to pick between cutting grocery taxes and operating Summer EBT, we can have both. 2. We led a sign on letter asking orgs and individuals to sign on and signal their support. Over 70… 1/X.

Though I haven't seen or heard a direct statement from Governor Stitt, the statement that came from his office is very troubling. Feeding kids is not and should not be political. It truly is that simple.
#JustIn: The deadline for the state to opt into a summer food program, that Oklahoma turned down this year, for 2025 is tomorrow. Governor Stitt's office just sent me this statement. It appears Oklahoma will once again not be participating. @kfor

@HungerFreeOK developed a suite of priorities for this Farm Bill based on quantitative and qualitative data, but given the lack of strong bipartisanship in Congress, many of our priorities will likely not be included. We will continue to work with members of congress and other. .

Oklahoma has a great leader on the committee in @RepFrankLucas, who has served on the Ag cmte since 1994, including chairing the cmte 2011 - 2015. He opened with a reminder the long history of bipartisanship in the Farm Bill and the importance of maintaining that bipartisanship.
