On August 10, a massive landslide in Tracy Arm Fjord, Alaska, resulted in ground shaking recorded by seismic instruments around the world, as these in Spain, located at distances of 8,000 km aprox. Weak P waves arrive around 13:38 UTC, followed by S waves and surface waves.

Following the m 8.8 Kamchatka earthquake, the Earth's normal modes are visible on broadband seismometers around the world, as here at the San Pablo in central Spain. The lowest mode, 0S2, shows that the Earth deforms every 52 minutes due to the earthquake. @GEO3BCN_CSIC

Broad-band seismometers of the EPYSIM project in NE Spain have recorded the surface seismic waves orbiting the Earth. At least five passages have been identified in each sense, meaning that seismic waves are still detected after traveling more than 200,000 km. @GEO3BCN_CSIC
