People need to get past bromides like "crunch is bad for business" and realize that business owners like the Houser brothers are pocketing hundreds of millions *because* they are not spending this money in overtime pay for devs who put in 70+ hour weeks

Ok well why don’t the people who took those jobs, of their own free will, go start their own company? It’s almost like the people who take the ENORMOUS risk of starting a company do so because there’s potentially a huge reward if they succeed. I know I know but feelings...

@gamespite
What are they risking? The worst thing that can happen to them is that they become workers too and have to get a job like everyone else, meanwhile employees are risking their livelihood, their ability to pay rent and eat, sacrificing their relationship to loved ones, etc.
@JDespland
So much coverage of working conditions has called for us to buy the game so workers get paid bonus. I Really don't want to justify this abusive company's pay practices.
@8bitforever
I feel you. Are there any unions in your indusry or local area? Try talking with your co-workers about working conditions and contacting local unions for help. The only way this ever gets better is through workers getting together and organizing for better conditions.
@JDespland
This is such bullshit.
Just one of many reasons I refuse to support
@RockstarGames
any more.
Last game I bought was GTA4 & I have no plans to buy/play anything from them anytime soon.

Unfortunately there is a lot of abuse and exploitation in many smaller studios as well. There are advantages to working in one but also bad things that bosses can get away with more easily than at larger studios.
