Can’t say enough about this team, only 5A team to finish a season undefeated State Champions, 26-0. Going down as one of the all time great teams! The best team and the best young ladies! Wouldn’t want to coach anyone else!!🎉🎉🎉
Dragons finally get it done! STATE CHAMPIONS! School record 24 wins but most of all a great group of young role models. They deserve every bit of this!!!!!!
In tonight’s win vs Ankeny Jada Gyamfi reached 1000 career pts. She’s the 6th Dragon to do so and only the 3rd to get to 1000 pts and 500 rebounds! Congratulations Jada!🎉👏

The season came to an end last night and can’t express how proud of this team I am. We lost 70% of our off. production but found ourselves right back in the 5A championship. That’s impressive and hese girls can hold their heads high!
This team just played a classic state championship game, down 10 with 1:50 to go, scored 9 straight to get it to 1 with 12 seconds. The last bounce didn’t go our way but I wouldn’t go to battle with any other team.

Dragons got down by 18 pts and came back to beat Ankeny 66-64 on this 3 pt shot down by 1 with 3 seconds to go. Nothing but net for Maddie Mock!!

The season ended today with a 58-52 loss in the state semifinals. Thank you to all of Dragon Nation for all the support this year! 21-4 record, only the 2nd 20 win season in school history. Players, coaches, school, and community have a lot to be a proud of!

Congratulations to Jada Gyamfi and Aili Tanke, both earn all tournament team honors this week. If you notice, out of the 6 players there are only 2 underclassmen and they are both Dragons.

It was great for the team to celebrate Maya McDermott today as she signed her NLI to play basketball at UNI🎉. She loves the purple and gold! We are extremely proud of her.
In the win tonight Kendall Nead was unstoppable w/ 32 points. Maya McDermott did her thing w/ 22. Anna Gossling scores 14 including 2 huge 4th qtr threes and Maddie Mock was a monster on the boards with 21!! Great team win. Proud of this team and how great they are playing!!
Last night Maddie Mock became only the 3rd player in program history to reach the 500 career rebound milestone. Still many more rebounds to come before the end of the season. She joins Taryn Knuth and Rachel Hinders on the list.
This play epitomizes the girls effort to come back from 18 down. Maddie Mock diving on the ground for the steal, outlet to Kendall Nead, kick ahead to Maya McDermott, cross court to Macy Thompson who passes it back to McDermott for 3 and lead!
Opponent to Kendall Nead in the 4th quarter Friday after Kendall’s and 1 - “you’re not even good”.
Kendall’s line - 24 points on 69% shooting (11/16), 5 rebounds, and the ‘dub!
Opponent was right, that’s not good, that’s great! Keep being great

It’s awesome we have so many of our kids commit to getting better year round. That’s why they are successful. Lots of Dragons playing their last day of AAU for the summer. Got to see these 3 play on a break from blowing the whistle.
Last nights win was not only our 6th straight regional final victory but also truly epitomizes why all members of a team are important. Down two regular starters everyone stepped up, some from limited roles to major roles and helped get the win! Proud of these girls!
Dragons pick up the quarterfinal win over Urbandale. One of biggest second half comebacks in state tournament history. Down 18 at half Dragons outscored the Jayhawks 44-16 in the second half. Will play Valley in State semifinal Thursday morning at 10:00 am.
