“When [someone] casually shares information about. their experience. listen. It means that they trust you to receive what they’re saying. Respectful questions like, “What was that like?” or, “Why is it like that?” can deepen the conversation and be valuable learning moments.”👏🏼.

@divadocsbos Absolutely. In my experience, lack of a knowledgment from the bystander who is a trusted or esteemed colleague can sometimes be just as, if not more, disconcerting and hurtful than the #microaggression itself. #PWChat.

👏🏼👏🏼 Not only ensures there’s no inclusion but also (at least personally) makes people feel even further ostracized and frustrated from/with society/the healthcare system/academia.

Yes. because even if medical schools check the box of diversity, ongoing microaggressions ensures that there is not inclusion. inclusion is not something that is mandated because it is harder to measure than diversity, but diversity without inclusion is incomplete #PWChat.
