Another new session @OJA_Brumby - The Better Burger Challenge. The children were challenge to reformulate the ‘classic burger’ into a healthier and innovative version. To design a burger that fits into a healthier modern lifestyle, to be creative, unique and push the boundaries.

A new session, supporting @OPA_BL DT project..... 'Carrots - Welly to Belly' with Chef Jane. Looking at how plants are grown, harvested and then cooked to make the food we eat. 90 pupils eating carrot and coriander soup with fresh made bread, all made in a live cookery session.

We had a great assembly delivered by our school lunch catering company today. We had blind food tasting session with some fantastic volunteers who gave us their reviews of the new dishes on our school dinner menu. It was a resounding "YES" for all the dishes they tasted today!

Children at one of our Wakefield schools wanted to do a charitable fund raising event , so they supported 'Bake a Cake and Save an Ape' with all the school children baking, decorating buns and we donated a selection if cakes and cookies for parents to come and make a donatation.

The Year 5 children took part in a fantastic cooking workshop this week linked to their DT unit Mexican Food. They practised cooking skills and created chilli and nachos. Thank you to @JANEHINDMARCH from ISS for hosting the event.

Our children have absolutely loved this and have really taken on the challenge of "Eating them to defeat them"!!! Our cook Jane even ran out of veg!
