Our office charged Caitlin L. Anderson with one count of 1st Degree Involuntary Manslaughter in connection with a fatal fentanyl overdose that occurred earlier this year. If convicted, she could face three to 10 years in prison. 🔗

The defendants had clear alternatives: drive to safety, call police. Instead, they chose to discharge deadly weapons in a reckless manner that could have resulted in tragedy.

Our office today announced charges against two men who allegedly fired into a downtown apartment building over the weekend. I understand the defendants may have felt threatened, however, allegedly firing blindly into an occupied apartment building endangered innocent lives.

Our law and victim advocate interns got a glimpse into the many paths their future legal career could take them during their visit at City Hall today. 🏛️. They visited with Mayor @QuintonLucasKC who shared what inspired him to pursue public service after a career in law.

We filed felony charges against Maurice Green for his involvement in a fatal shooting that took place near Prospect Plaza Park in 2022. He faces 2nd Degree Murder and Unlawful Use of a Weapon. He was almost 18 y/o when the shooting occurred and was certified as an adult.

Our office today charged Jacob Ackerman for a homicide that took place in Sugar Creek this weekend. He faces 2nd Degree Murder and Armed Criminal Action.

Today, our office secured a 25-year sentence against Demont Vandunk for his role in an armed robbery of a Corvette and a high-speed police chase that took place in December 2024.
