Our Rule 13 Intern, Jacob Leamon, secured a 10-year sentence for Larome Harley, convicted of a vehicle hijacking that occurred in Feb. 2024. He delivered an outstanding argument that balanced accountability with respect for all involved, the defendant, victim, and community.

CASE UPDATE: Today, Mikael Hickman-Perry was sentenced to 13 years for 2nd Degree Murder and 3 years for Armed Criminal Action. The sentences will run consecutively for a total of 16 years.

Today, Craig S. Liggins was sentenced to 18 years in prison for a shooting from 2023 that left three people injured. In May, a jury convicted him of three counts of Unlawful Use of a Weapon, six counts of Armed Criminal Action, and three counts of 1st Degree Assault.

Our office charged Ivory J. Bridgewater this week for a shooting that took place in Waldo on Monday. The victim is in critical, but stable condition. The defendant faces 1st Degree Assault and Armed Criminal Action. If convicted, he could face life in prison.
