It’s like, here’s this human, tender, heartbreaking episode about Beast finally coming to terms with his mutation, followed by 22 bonkers minutes of the X-Men getting zapped to mojo world, and my kid is equally into both.

My 11 year old daughter is currently binging the ‘92 X-Men animated series, and watching some of these episodes cold, even as a former editor on X-Men, they’re absolutely wild. I cannot even imagine what my mom thought when I was watching them at the same age lol

These kids are 2 and 4, and the parents also believe they’re too young to understand verbal correction for things they did wrong so they hit them instead. Make literally any part of this “rational”, it can’t be done.

The article details out: leaving a 2 year old alone, regular physical abuse, purposefully not heating their home in the winter, restricted contact with outside support systems, & creating the “future police” who preemptively punish the kids for things they haven’t done yet.

Like “how’s it going for gen z and gen alpha?” I mean, for those who don’t get hit by their parents, probably better in the not getting hit by their parents and creating a proven on-going cycle of abuse department.

The reporter spends the entire time detailing out what in any other light would be seen as child abuse, says she’s disturbed by it, and then goes “oh my bad you have a RATIONAL REASON for hitting your kids and gleefully isolating them from an outside support system! Nvm!”

We’re fine benching guys for missing team breakfast to teach them something about loyalty to the boys or whatever but USA hockey can’t teach 7 year olds that choosing to wear a neck guard doesn’t make you a pussy as I saw one hockey parent say on twitter, sounds cool

Like all the guys arguing about ~risk assessment but usually with RA there’s a risk on the OTHER side too and you have to weight both. What is the risk in wearing one that we’re trying to balance here? No one seems to be able to give me a straight answer.

Can someone actually explain to me what the reasoning is for NOT mandating neck guards for hockey? Even when I asked my son’s coach he said «we agree with USA Hockey that it’s better not to mandate them.” Like, what is the negative? I truly don’t get it.
