Durlak, et al. 2011 = a de facto product of CASEL, the NGO behind SEL. Weissberg was a CASEL founder/exec, Dymnicki, and Taylor were CASEL "affiliated," as late as 2008. Durlak & Weissberg previously published together under the CASEL name.

@Ne_pas_couvrir I experience this daily. IME under 25 don't know how to do basic computer functions, and definitely can't work in word or excel.

Notice the deceptive non sequitur? "Reducing federal spending" doesn't necessarily mean cuts to legitimate benefits. Don't be birdcage liner, WaPo.

Cipriano, et al. 2023, the new mega meta-analysis of SEL: There's "significant heterogeneity" in SEL programs. AKA, no firm definition or practice. Authors used 12 SEL "outcome categories," & some of those had sub-cats. Very fluid.

"Speaking up"--good, not enough for books already on shelves. Find your district's book challenge policy. Challenge books and follow policy TO THE LETTER. If the policy is stacked against you (most are), pressure board members for a rewrite. It's a legal process under Pico/1stAM.
If parents donât speak up and demand appropriate handling of this kind of material, theyâll just keep pushing it further.
