Alongside a third of the staff, I was laid off from The Intercept today. I was the only staffer both reporting & editing on the environment beat. TI was my dream job. I’m grateful to have done such meaningful work alongside whip-smart, passionate colleagues & friends.

I was hired by @inversedotcom as one of its first writers eight years ago in 2015, cranking out pieces in a tiny closet in Brooklyn for a little site that could. I became its first senior writer in 2018. Today is my last day, and not by my choice. I’ve been laid off.
