What they should have done is have a second application with those permissions for users who want to opt-in to Cloudflare being able to manage their code repositories, not mix both together.

A use case for those permissions is to streamline the template feature from the Cloudflare dashboard.

After asking in Cloudflare Discord, I see there are no signals yet to roll that back. I feel incredibly uncomfortable to give Cloudflare a red nuclear button to delete my Github repos by mistake or submit some code to my codebase without review.

Cloudflare is about to be able to have administration level repository permissions on connected GitHub repos from 18th December. It is a bad idea to give admin permission by default to streamline the onboarding of SOME new users.
