Just been to say goodbye & thank you to @CritcareLTHTR I got to see my old bed. This was actually made into 2 bed spaces at the time because of how many covid patients they had. I feel proud & lucky. This team saved my life & made sure Oscar kept his mummy, my heros❤️#Survivor

Since becoming chronically ill, I will unapologetically cut out anyone who is toxic from my life. Stress directly affects my health.

“Do you really think you know more about your condition than an actual doctor?” Yes, actually, and that’s a problem. I’m not saying I’m a genius. I’m saying that there are things that they do not know enough about yet still act like they know everything. It leads to negligence.

I didn’t know any of these statistics so I am sharing them for men’s mental health awareness. 88% of men receive their first flowers at their funeral. Males die by suicide 4x more often than females. 80% of suicides are men. That’s 125 men per day. Suicide is the second

Sore few days after being caught outside in the rain on Saturday. But finally feeling like I can move again, time to get some jobs done before another busy weekend of Botox, & presentation nights 💪🏻

Chronic illness changes the equation with many things. What used to be a 30-minute chore becomes a multi-day commitment. Showering means planning, doing and then recovering. Dishes sit until we have enough strength. Laundry is washed days before it’s folded. This is our life.

Not been on here much since last year. It became very hard for me & my mental health as there was a lot of negativity around chronic illness & long Covid. However, I used to love tweeting about my progress and my days so I’ve decided to make a grand return😂 🎉 Blue bpool sea

When people say “we all have the same 24 hours” they forget that with chronic illness time works differently. A doctor’s visit may take a full day. Treatment may last hours. A flare may steal an entire weekend. Sadly, time and energy aren’t always certain with chronic illness.

I’ve heard many say “God gives his toughest battles to his strongest soldiers,” in response to illness, like it’s supposed to be empowering. But what if I never wanted to be a soldier? What if I’m just tired of fighting? I didn’t ask for this strength. I just want a break.

Parenting when you’re disabled is hard.. half terms are almost impossible! My spoons run out last Thursday but I’m still powering on 💤 Og’s been a joy this half term 😁 We walked round the back of the zoo the other day, searching for my fav 🦒 look at this cute moment..

Is anyone else surviving but definitely not thriving—just kinda…vibing in distress?

Some people get sick and never get better. Some people get sick through no fault of their own and never get better. Some people get sick and try everything and never get better.
