Later(2002) same unit 171 BN #BSF was commanded by heroic Comdt VP Purohit, #KC, PPMG, PMG(Bar) who despite a bullet wound to his thigh, fought bravely killing one militant and grappling another's rifle aimed at his chest. He had later succumbed to his injuries during evacuation.
