. Toad ransom subplot mentioned in the Mario 1 manual. If the filmmakers were gonna have Peach kidnapped in this movie from the start, they would be hard pressed to make an origin movie with any sort of emotional stakes. Say what you want about the film we got. .

- Peach being kidnapped the whole time doesn't give her and Mario any opportunity to bond together, by the end of the movie you just have 2 strangers meeting up for whatever reason. - since day 1 Peach has been often positioned as a strong leader, like with the. (Cont).

Here's a few notes about this take. - if its Peach instead of Luigi then there's no real emotional pull for Mario to save her. - if its Peach and Luigi then the leading guy himself doesn't interact with any of the most prominent supporting chars the whole movie. (Cont).
"Not gonna lie the Mario Movie would be a thousand times better if they let Peach be kidnapped as her being a complete girlboss just doesn't work for her character."
