Glad we solved the PIVOT!!! problem.
We JUST solved a hard open math problem— the moving sofa problem! "What is the area of the largest shape that can be manuevered through an L corner of width 1?" On Dec 2, 2024, Korean Jineon Baek proved the answer is the 18 curve section Gerver's sofa with area 2.2195..!

We plugged the management port for our PDU into the switch it itself powers. The astute among you might recognize the flaw in this approach.

Zoo is building a CAD suite that runs in the cloud, but by minimizing latency it feels like it's rendered locally. Find out what they're doing to keep latency low & UI responsive in @adam_chal & @iterion's #P99CONF session that starts in 5 min! https://t.co/KVlrLMUbWL

Our @zoodotdev data center is now 2 Sock compliant which is, of course, better than SOC2 in many ways.

I have found no APIs that cannot be accurately described by an OpenAPI spec, and yet the number of accurately described APIs is too damn low!

Sign up for @P99CONF if you want to learn how we make our streaming CAD app in the cloud feel like it’s running locally!
We just filmed our talk for this year's @P99CONF! I'm really excited to talk about how we kept our cloud-streaming CAD app quick and responsive. P99conf is one of my favorite conferences, it's free and I learn SO much every year. Sign up to view it!

Shout out to k3s and Longhorn for replicating some AWS bits like LB and PVs.

Just got our full app running on servers in our office, zero dependencies on AWS aside from S3, and zero code changes to our app. It’s amazing how much k8s do for you.

Betting markets are clearly biased by those stupid enough to bet on presidential elections, but yeah, spend your money and skip the actual voting part, I’m cool with it.

I also still love the k8s server as cattle metaphor, my cattle just poop heat directly, no need for the pesky methane and manure.

Honestly sometimes Kubernetes is just a fucking delight. I know it is complex and I’m an “expert” but it’s still solving problems I have with managing lots of computers better than any other tool out there.

But what about my over-fetching problems! Waaah.

Party of Lincoln is such ahistorical bullshit. Sure sign that you’re a fucking moron if you spout that nonsense or any derivative.

Large corporations are also hugely wasteful places! They just don’t make big heavily publicized reports about it because that would obviously make them look bad!
