The World Health Organisation @WHONigeria hosted me to a dinner in recognition of our modest contributions to the development of the health sector.

Some Chief Medical Directors and Chief Executive of tertiary health institutions hosted me to a dinner last night. I appreciate you all.

I formally handed over to the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Health, @Fmohnigeria, Alhaji Abdulaziz Mashi Abduallai, in line with the directive of Mr. President @MBuhari. I wish the PSH well as he pilots the affairs of the ministry.

The Top Management Committee Meeting, TMC, of the Federal Ministry of Health,@Fmohnigeria, held a valedictory session for me today. It was an opportunity to thank all the directors and staff of the Ministry for their contributions to the successes recorded in the last four years

I was in Ibadan, Oyo State today to commission and hand over to the Oke Ayo Community, erosion control works on behalf of President @MBuhari. The project, an intervention from the FG through the Ecological Fund Office.

In addition, Three hundred and thirty-two public sector facilities will become truly functional as a result of the program. I appreciate our partners, @WorldBank @theGFF @DFID_UK @USAID @WHO & other Partners. #BHCPF #HUWE

This amount is equivalent to the purchase of six hundred & thirty five thousand (635,000) cases of women with normal deliveries, One million, eight hundred thousand (1,800,000) under 5-childhood illnesses or One million three hundred & fifty thousand (1,350,000) cases of malaria

This guarantees that the BHCPF will help reduce inequality in use and access of services particularly by the most vulnerable. Consequently, residents of Abia State will benefit from services worth N1.08bn over the next 9 months.

Today, we flag off the enrolment of clients for the Basic Health Care Provision Fund, BHCPF in Abia State. To ensure equity in the disbursement of funds, we have allocated resources per State based on the incidence of poverty and also on a per capita basis.

Professor Emmanuel Otolorin, a Board member, Society for Quality In Healthcare in Nigeria, led other members of the society on a courtesy call to my office today. We discussed how the organisation could partner with the FMoH on quality assurance in THIs & BHCPF @huwegov. #sqhn

President @MBuhari has approved the appointment of Dr Obinna Onudugo as the CMD, University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital, Enugu. Today, I presented his letter of appointment to him and urge him to work with relevant stakeholders to ensure quality service delivery to Nigerians

I had the pleasure of presenting letter of appointment as CMD, @Tweet_abuzaria Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital, Zaria to Professor Ahmed Hamidu. I wish him well and also urge him to ensure that the hospital continues to deliver quality healthcare services to Nigerians.

Today, we launched the assessment checklist for Federal Tertiary Hospitals. The checklist will assess the quality of services in our tertiary health institutions, improve patient safety and overall clinical governance for better clinical outcome. Quality of Care is our goal.

I was at the @nassnigeria today to brief Senators on the current state of healthcare facilities and services across the country. We are using the ongoing rehabilitation of Primary Health Centres across the country as a springboard to repositioning the sector.

We are conscious of the enormous implementation challenges ahead. 22 States have so far demonstrated interest. Baseline assessments, State and facility level training and a performance management system all have to be in place in the next couple of months.

The transfer marks an important step in the @huwegov program design in how health care is financed and delivered in Nigeria. In the coming days, we will work with the NPHCDA & NHIS to ensure the funds are disbursed into account of States that have been set up at CBN

It is my pleasure to inform Nigerians and our partners that the sum of N12.7bn was disbursed into the NHIS, NPHCDA & NCDC TSA accounts at the CBN. The specific sums are as follows: NHIS - N6.5bn (50% of available resources) NPHCDA - N5.8bn (45%) NCDC - N327m (2.5%)

Today, we signed a management contract between @Fmohnigeria and MDS Logistics for two of our zonal warehouses in Lagos and Abuja. This is the first Public Private Partnership, PPP, to be successfully initiated in this regard. @ARC4SC @SupplyChainNtwk
