The latest Labs video is about the @modretro Chromatic. It's more than just a retro game console. It's a new model for consumer electronics and American manufacturing.

The idea is simple: capture the gasses from the explosion inside the cartridge instead of inside a suppressor. There are some downsides, but there are upsides too. If you can capture the sound, the chemicals, the flash, and the heat, you have a very minimal weapon signature.

I think it's time to bring back captive piston ammunition. We've got some new materials and manufacturing tech that should squeeze a lot more performance out of this old concept.
