At Chengdu National Library Deputy Head of Mission Barry Mulligan opened ‘monuments in focus’, which showcases Ireland’s archeological heritage. With the library receiving over 10,000 visitors daily, the exhibition will raise awareness of Ireland in this key Chinese city.

On 22 May 2015, Ireland became the first country in the world to provide for marriage equality by popular vote. To mark EU diversity week and 10 years of marriage equality in Ireland, the Embassy of Ireland in China held a special screening of the documentary "The 34th".
