IDK who needs to hear this but hitpiece is an automatically generated website based on the spotify API and nobody is actually buying your music
(probably) only ones selling your music are the platform holders; tweeting your rage gives them free publicity
please stop

Ever wondered how adaptive BGM is made?
I composed some funky cartoonish island music that can react to in-game events

I really just love the sound of old school tracker software and I've really been feeling that vibe lately; so I did a modernized take on the sound.
Hey
#GameAudio
!! Here's a preview of a fun summery city jam I made for
@otkgames
' upcoming open world beat em up game
「Detained: Too Good For School」🎹✨
See you at GDC!
It's difficult to accept that nothing lasts for ever until its over
Rest in power Charlie aka Akira Complex
I'm really sad I never went to tell you this but you were a huge inspiration to me and your impact on the scene has always been immeasurable. You were one of a kind
Everyone is like YOOO holy shit Ableton Live 12 midi modifiers that you can make yourself!!!🤩🤩
...but once ur past the hype honeymoon maybe consider that if you use it, every midi clip in your project is gonna host a max device that can crash w/o leaving any good crash logs
/unjerk ANYWAY YOU CAN FUCKING RENAME PIANO ROLL NOTES!!!????
It's difficult to explain how happy this makes me, it makes working with Kontakt so much less tiresome.
𝑴𝒂𝒅𝒆 𝒊𝒏 𝑨𝒃𝒚𝒔𝒔 𝑭𝑨𝑵 𝑶𝑺𝑻🎻
I wanted to try capture the visceral organic feeling of the original music somehow, using only virtual instruments
this is the 1st of a 3-part series where I showcase my selfstudy/journey into this style
Happy (late) 5th birthday, Serum!
It's kind of crazy how much of an impact this synth has had on electronic music since it launched back in 2014.
It might just be me, but this thought makes me feel awfully nostalgic
I'm currently working on a video essay that details how to perfectly replace (almost) every live stock plugin inside bitwig.
I'm talking 95%+ direct feature overlap and workfow
I've made recreations of vinyl distortion, multiband dynamics, drum buss, roar, operator and more
I think people already approach electronic music too competitively as is
Just write some fun songs, it's not that complex- just fun is enough.
If you're like this, you're just overthinking it because being in the music space on social media makes up a large part of your life
if you turn this off in discord you can screenshare ableton with sound and people can still see vsts like normal
everyone go hug
@itsfrection
for the find
I'm happy to announce that I'll be composing the OST for
@otkgames
's next indie title:
「Detained: Too Good For School」
alongside
@ShadyCicada
!!!
Detained is 2d open world action RPG/beat em up game with visual novel elements.
...now with funky bangers from me!
#gamedev
I think at this point its safe to say
#PennysBigBreakaway
is one of the best 3d platformers ever
It feels like the first time in forever we get a completely original moveset. not Mario or Sonic derivative- its something entirely new that is cleverly made to reward player growth
TIL the Ableton metronome is just an audio effects rack stored in the user library.
You can replace it with literally anything and it will work (Even racks with VSTs and M4L devices)
Not sure why you would, but you could probably make a whole beat just in the metronome
Me n my friends found out that there was once a version of Xfer OTT that had variable band splits...
Is this real?
if you have this version, please send?? 🥺🥺
Max Devices that SLAP part 3:
Conflator by el davo & tviler 🎛️
It's a 0$ accurate max emulation of the popular distortion plugin "Oxford Inflator" (£117), which artists like Oliver and Disclosure are known to often use to fatten up their drums.
Theres also MWaveShaper presets
Max Devices that SLAP part 1:
Gonna start shouting out devices I rly love for the people that are following me for workflow gamer tips..
"ClipGain" 🎛️
Brings up a little floating window with a key that you can use to change in clip settings without opening up the UI every time
Wow
Muse group is doxxing/blackmailing an open source developer on github because they’re salty he made a sheet downloader for musescore. Downloading community sheets was recently locked behind a subscription paywall $$$
I don't often hear enough people talking about how big small room IR reverbs are for creating space in music
it's the type of advice I wish I'd gotten years ago
all of these new features are really cool
however, literally the only thing that matter here is the performance of this new UI
if it's still as laggy as live 11's interface is, why would I want to increase the complexity of it.
How to post IDs/wips on twitter:
Instrumental/Chiptune
- record your tracker or piano roll
Distorted bass music
- video of soundcloud IOS playing a private upload
Literally everything else
- screenrecorded playlist with visualizer or fruity dance
fun fact about sendoff:
With this song I had a problem where the kick + clap transient would sound slightly different every time.
It was driving me nuts, so in the final version I literally just took the master wav and I chopped & replaced every transient with the one I liked
If you’re wondering why I haven’t been posting as many videos or clips of songs, new Ableton stuff;
I got covid-19 in early feb and I’ve been dealing with relapses of lasting sideeffects. I’m ok and I’m still working on projects but I just thought I’d let you know
just found out live's multiband comp plugin sounds cool because attack/release times are actually 1/10th of what they say they are
I have trust issues now
Steel drums are a criminally underused instrument in electronic music.
I love how warm they sound and I wish I had a place to use them more often
(also, I know crab rave exists. that doesn't count)
