I forget where I heard this said, but basically when people think they're hearing a really nice expensive sounding top end on a mix, they're actually just hearing great low-mids and midrange. I guess it's psychoacoustics?

I basically low-pass 99% of my sounds and I end up with a beautiful, clean, airy top end. Took me wayyyyy too long to figure out something so simple.

yo WHAT SONG DOES THAT SYNTH SOUND LIKE? I swear we've all heard it a thousand times I just can't think of the name. ALSO I gotta flex. Ample guitars rock, and I only needed 12 plugins to make it sound how I wanted.

This album I've been working on has been a hyperbolic time chamber for my skills it's kind of nuts how much I'm improving on each mix.

I really got a lot better at this mixing thing in the last 2 months alone, like a big growth spike. I never thought I'd end up doing this as my main thing, I just wanted to use it to apply to my own music, but it pays and keeps me busy and it turns out I enjoy the learning.

It's totally a psychological thing, but it always sounds different when you hear the rendered version of something you made vs when it's still in the session

I'm getting into mixing with my volume rly low, it's good to switch it up all the time but low volume lets you hear stuff more naturally. Your ears are like multiband compressors that gradually compress 1-3khz the louder something gets, which brings out more of the highs/lows

Don't u hate when you make it sound perfect for this part, and then it doesn't sound as good on this other part? Me too.

it’s painful to see the people you love suffer for just trying to live… my friends deserve nothing but the best and i will personally see to them achieving their dreams no matter what ❤️🩹

I wish I could just do my mixing stuff on stream all casual, but I'd be revealing the music that I'm working on. It would be hella fun though, I want to yap while I do this shit.
