Archaeologists guess the Pyramids of Giza to be about ~4,600 years old as Carbon-14 canβt be used to estimate their age. An ostrich egg found in a tomb near Aswan shows the 3 Pyramid structures side by side. Carbon dating show it is ~7,000 years old. An interesting quagmire.

Mayor Asa Candler ordered them to fetch crates of dynamite in order to create a barrier the flames could not cross. This plan worked and the flame was contained. For weeks the city was shrouded in smoke and ash. Thousands camped in Piedmont Park or vacant lots.

The city's firemen struggled to combat the flames - A mixture of a cotton warehouse, Grady Hospital's "pest house," and cotton mattresses caused the destruction. These blazes should have easily been contained but the firetrucks malfunctioned forcing them to use hand buckets.

Today, the location of the FΓΌhrer bunker is now a parking lot. The bunker was filled in long ago. All that remains is a sign in the parking lot detailing the layout Hitler's death would end the fighting in Europe. In total, an estimated 75 million people would die in WW2 #Hitler

Both bodies were hastily burned outside the bunker. Soviet forces discovered the ashes and also some of his teeth, which they sent back to Moscow. In 2018, researchers were allowed to examine the teeth and confirmed the match - dispelling any notion that Hitler escaped Germany

The surrounding town of Pripyat was evacuated, with a "zone of exclusion" set up around the explosion. The area will not be safe for at least another 20,000 years. Pripyat sits just as it did in 1986. Today - a ghost town that still provides creepy imagery. #Pripyat #Chernobyl
