(1) Tom Armitage was given cap #1 due to his surname and as such is England's first capped player. He played the first two test matches played in Melbourne and never played for England again. He scored just 33 runs for England, but did take 121 wickets for @YorkshireCCC

(119) Clem Wilson. Played two tests for England as they toured South Africa in 1898–99 scoring 42 runs. Only played 52 first-class games as he was ordained deacon in 1899 and spent his life as a clergyman in the Church of England.

(118) Pelham Warner. Plum or "the Grand Old Man" of English cricket played 15 tests scoring 622 runs. Managed the infamous "bodyline" tour to Aus. Founded @TheCricketerMag and was cricket correspondent for @telecricket. Named Wisden Cricketer of the Year in 1904 & 1921.

(117) Johnny Tyldesley. A specialist batsman, Johnny played in 31 tests before WW1 scoring 1,661 runs. He scored over 37,000 runs for @lancscricket - Noted for his square-cut shot and having the quick feet to score runs on bad wickets. Considered a great outfield fiedler.

(116) Albert Trott. Played for both England & Australia after being born in Victoria. Legend has it that he is the only batsman to have struck a ball over the top of the Lord's Pavilion. Scored 228 runs in 5 tests, but tragically committed suicide at the age of 41.

(115) Frank Mitchell. Played in 5 tests scoring 88 runs for an average of 11.60. Fought in the Second Boer War in the Yorkshire Dragoons. Made 7 centuries for Yorkshire in 1901 and was named a @WisdenCricket cricketer of the year. Became a correspondent for @TheCricketerMag

(114) Frank Milligan. Only played in 2 tests in 1899 scoring 58 runs for a 14.50 average. Stayed on after the tests to serve under Colonel Plumer in the Second Boer War where he died aged just 30 in the campaign to relieve Mafeking. He scored over 2000 runs for Yorkshire.
