The problem with “small returnable favours” is they eventually compound and before you know it, you have a substantial amount lent out to multiple people who are all casual about it and the burden still falls on you to chase them all.

This also raises an issue on where our sense of community and society is headed. As a third world country that came straight out of COVID and jumped into economic turbulence, our social bandwidth may have permanently shrunk. It’s each man for himself where we are headed.
If you haven’t adapted your social life to suit the current economic conditions which have been prevalent for some years, it’d be wise to do so. Even if you can afford it, it is unwise to be out anywhere and everywhere with this inflation. Our 3rd spaces are now pocket drainers.

Chaminuka is a nice place but what no one ever talks about is the terrible food. It’s like we all went there once and agreed to keep quiet about it and only keep it for day visits. Imagine if Chaminuka has Lilayi Lodge’s food. We can’t have it all, I guess.

These are the morality cases that are difficult to dissect. At UTH, NTH, or KTH, someone is probably on some list for NHIMA approval or some sophisticated scan for days or weeks just to get a lifesaving test at the same cost. The world truly is complex.
