My initial reaction is that I love it. I worry about any team built off spite in any way, but it's a very indy ball vibe in a league MLB already cut loose. Travel is going to be difficult in an already notoriously difficult travel league.

WOW. According to this, the ALPB has cut the team's membership from the league and the city wants the team out of the ballpark immediately.
I'm not sure what this means, but I'm tempted to think there will still be ALPB baseball in Gastonia with a different team & ownership.
LAWSUIT: The Atlantic League of Professional Baseball terminated the Gastonia Honey Hunters' membership earlier this month over more than $1 million dollars in unpaid debt, according to a lawsuit.
