Deborah Nichols mentored a generation of Indigenous archaeologists including many in our collective. We honor her for providing support at that crucial time and for continuing to encourage respect for Indigenous communities and scholarship throughout her career.
It is with heavy hearts that the SAA board mourns the loss of Society for American Archaeology president Deborah Nichols. Deb was a guiding light and fierce advocate for the SAA, and we will miss her deeply.
