all we can really do at this point is try to explain the growing disconnect between the public/online and private/irl melee spheres to those willing to listen - and continue making the spaces we do have control over cool, welcoming, and safe

all the online bigot/creep/drama orbiters that have coalesced around the melee scene over the past few years have largely failed at their goal of messing with our infrastructure but they have definitely helped sour our reputation to outsiders who don't understand the situation
