The capacity problem that seemed unsolvable now had an answer. Robots handled the repetitive tasks. Staff finally had time to give residents what mattered most. Human touch, presence, and care.

One resident loved singing "You Are My Sunshine." Staff couldn't sit with her every day. Now Pepper can. It sings, reads books, and runs mini book clubs. A level of consistency humans couldn't deliver alone.

Pepper, meanwhile, took over group activities. When Pepper called bingo, staff didn't have to run the game. Instead, they could help residents fill cards, provide touch, and build connection.

When residents became agitated in the evening, CNAs brought out Moby. It calmed them down through simple 1-on-1 interaction. No special training needed. Just a tool that worked.

And the impact went beyond activities. Robots opened opportunities for ALL caregivers, not just activity staff. Now CNAs could use them during night shifts.

For dementia patients, multi-sensory engagement improves quality of life. Seeing different things. Hearing different things. Moving in new ways. The robots provided consistency staff simply couldn't.

For Moby, they came out every time. Residents with early and advanced dementia fought to be first at the table. Their moods shifted. Their stamina improved. They remembered Moby was coming.

Autumn, who runs one facility, thought maybe a few residents would try it. She wasn't prepared for what happened next. Residents who hadn't joined activities in years started showing up. Even those who refused bingo (the most popular activity).
