Avolta gave us some Swiss chocs for showing our membership and the kids killed some time on some footy games they provided. Then it was time to come home for a rest 😂 Estimated over 100 rides and attractions not including re-rides. Beach next year! 😆

Day 10. We had a bit of anxiety getting home due to our train to Basel being cancelled and the replacement being temporarily cancelled. Left earlier to give ourselves time, after some nifty DB app work and having to sit on the floor of the train we got to Basel via Freiburg. 🥵

One last walk, and it was time to pack. Auf Wiedersehen, Europa Park.

Next door to that was the Santa Isabel. Portuguese themed and even has it's own chapel! Colloseo, Andaluz, Isabel and Alcazar are all very close together. The latter we didn't have time to visit unfortunately.

There's a cool walkway that takes you from the Hotel Colloseo under the road to the Hotel El Andaluz. We had a drink at the bar here and again it looks fantastic and authentically Spanish. It's right next door to the hotel guest entrance too.

I'd easily stay at any of the other hotels. Colosseo is lively with kids running through the fountains and has multiple bars and restaurants. At the reception, just one look up and you go wow.

Our final evening meal was at our hotel, Bell Rock. A Mongolian grill gave us the best feed of the holiday, washed down with lovely lovely Erdinger. The fountains, live music, and the spectacular lighthouse were a great backdrop.

We caught the mini steam train back to the hotel. Around the park there are so many little details celebrating the 50th year. The Mack family are very proud owners and so they should be, it's the best run theme park I've ever visited.

We caught the Saly Brothers performing on an outdoor stage. Only a 5-10 min act but incredible skill with ropes/percussion. A lady volunteer looked terrified. 😂 We ended the day going back on various rides, finishing with a Voltron double ride before heading for food.

Then we went to Spain to catch a Zorro show. It's an open arena they can close the roof on. Unique layout too as horses gallop past in the stands. A little boy behind kept shouting out "MI AMORE ZORRO". 😂 Not all heroes wear capes. most do though.

After that was a well deserved Mojito and back on the bumper cars. Nearly got whiplash from accidently reversing into a wall. 🙈

Another Voltron attempt. No bad train this time. the whole package is elite. You know you've been on it that's for sure. relentless coaster.

Switzerland next for Matterhorn Blitz and Swiss Bob Run re-rides. With it being slightly quieter you do take in the surroundings more.

Back to France and took in some of the surroundings and details like Eiffel Tower tables. Operations and queue times were excellent across our break but Sunday might have been the best day overall. Can Can re-ride was so much easier when the queue is halved.

Another re-ride on Arthur from a different seat was worth it. So much going on in that ride. Then we went and watched a Voltron 4d film. We then found some pinball machines so had to use up some Euros 😉

Day 9. Our 4th full day in Europa Park and also our last one. We started off with more ERT on BlueFire and Alpine Express. Today was sub 30c. Still hot but a welcome relief from the 36c earlier this week. A log flume and boat ride followed to keep up cool. 😎

After an Erikson bar it had to be Sven for food didn't it. 💙 Bubba Svens was a nice sports bar/grill. No PL tho. 😥 Scandinavian dishes were a mixed bag. It was the weakest of the restaurants so far and also quite far away from the park. Erdinger was really all I needed. 😂

After a few more re-rides we left for our evening meal at the Hotel Kronasar. We were a bit early so popped into Bar Erikson. It had a cool spinning globe and a really nice 50th anniversary cocktail. 😍

We then went back to Iceland to design our own Magnum. The queue must be designed to make you enjoy it more, as you wait outside first for about 20 mins in 30c heat with no shade. 🥵 We all agreed toppings too sugary but would have regretted not trying this.
